Class Council Officer Application
Thank you for your interest in running for class office. You are accepting a significant responsibility in the direction of your graduating class. The positions do require time and energy but are rewarding and provide excellent experience for future work.

Class Officer Positions:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Female Senator, Male Senator

Timeline for Elections:
April 20 Applications Available
April 30 Applications Due
April 30 Campaign Photo, slogan and blurb due
May 4 Online Campaign
May 8 Virtual Election

Requirements:
1. Currently hold a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and failing no classes. You must maintain a 2.5 throughout your tenure in office. Your GPA will be checked by Ms. Munson prior to campaigning.
2. You must have attended Liberty for at least two semesters. You must be a member of your class (determined by credits) to apply for class position.
3. Complete application for office.
4. Request 3 teacher recommendations. You will submit names of four teachers and Ms. Munson will follow up to request recommendations.
5. Agree to and sign the LHS Leadership Oath of Office. You will sign and send picture of Oath of Office by due date.
6. Adhere to campaign requirements outlined below or be subject to disqualification. “Write-in” candidates are not permitted.
7. Submit photo, slogan and candidate blurb for online campaigning. All campaigning will be conducted via the LHS Instagram and LHS ASB website.
8. ASB officers are expected to enroll in leadership class throughout their term of office. This is non-negotiable.

Duties of Holding a Class Office
President:

• The President shall attend Leadership camp during the summer and all other leadership training sessions during the school year.
• The President shall plan meeting times with advisors and other members that represent your class.
• The President shall have good attendance while holding an office on ASB.
• The President may not dictate and assign jobs to its peers, you are one group, act accordingly.
• The President shall represent his or her class in a good manner and remember that he or she is a role model for underclassmen and actions are reflected upon ASB as a whole.
• The President shall make sure that all ASB supplies are put away in its proper place after his or her class is done using them.
• The President shall participate to the full extent of his or her capabilities during ASB meetings and at school sponsored events.
• The President shall help plan the class fundraiser for that year. Not be in charge of finding, but certainly help with getting a DJ, Security, and Rented space for event, Decorations, the Theme etc. etc.

Vice President:

• The Vice-President shall attend all leadership training sessions during the school year.
• The Vice President shall assume the Presidents duties in the event of his or her absence or inability to serve.
• The Vice President shall organize, with the President, agenda items that need to be discussed at the next meeting and forward to the secretary for publication.
• The Vice President shall work hand in hand with its advisors and along with the President keep the Executive Board in formed about events and activities.
• The Vice President shall represent his or her class in a good manner and remember that he or she is a role model for underclassmen and actions are reflected upon ASB as a whole.
• The Vice President shall participate to the full extent of his or her capabilities during ASB meetings and at school sponsored events.
• The Vice President shall help plan the class fundraiser for that year. Not be in charge of finding, but certainly help with getting a DJ, Security, and Rented space for event, Decorations, the Theme etc. etc.
• The Vice President shall assist the President with all his or her duties when asked or see the need.

Secretary:

• The Secretary shall attend all leadership training sessions during the school year
• The Secretary shall record the minutes of the ASB meetings that take place. In his or her absence—the class treasurer will be in charge of full filling this duty.
• The Secretary shall record in the minutes and whatever is discussed that day in class and ideas and/ or solutions and actions that follow.
• The Secretary shall type up and keep minutes from the class in chronological order.
• The Secretary shall record minutes and items discussed at class meetings with his or hers advisors and other council members.
• The Secretary shall participate to the full extent of his or her capabilities during ASB meetings and at school sponsored events.
• The Secretary shall help plan the class fundraiser for that year. Not be in charge of finding, but certainly help with getting a DJ, Security, and Rented space for event, Decorations, the Theme etc. etc.

Treasurer:

• The Treasurer shall be a member of the leadership class.
• The Treasurer shall attend all leadership training sessions during the school year.
• The Treasurer shall keep class officers informed on budget items.
• The Treasurer, along with other class officers, will be responsible for completing and turning in Purchase Orders.
• The Treasurer shall serve on the Budget committee.
• The Treasurer shall help assist the President with all of his or her duties.
• The Treasurer shall, in the event of the Secretaries absence, take noted during any meetings or items discussed that day and forward them to the Secretary upon return for publication in the notebook.
• The Treasurer shall participate to the full extent of his or her capabilities during ASB meetings and at school sponsored events.
• The Treasurer shall help plan the class fundraiser for that year. Not be in charge of finding, but certainly help with getting a DJ, Security, and Rented space for event, Decorations, the Theme etc. etc.

Senator:

• The Senator shall be a member of the leadership class.
• The Senator shall attend all leadership training sessions during the school year.
• The Senator shall be in charge of helping out wherever he or she is needed.
• The Senator, in the event of the Presidents, Vice Presidents, Treasurers and Secretaries absence shall take notes and forward them to the Secretary for publication in the notebook.
• The Senator shall participate to the full extent of his or her capabilities during ASB meetings and at school sponsored events.
• The Senator shall help plan the class fundraiser for that year. Not be in charge of finding, but certainly help with getting a DJ, Security, and Rented space for event, Decorations, the Theme etc. etc.

ALL CLASS POSITIONS:
You are in charge of your class’s success with homecoming. It is truly a group effort and cannot be successful without everyone’s effort. The ASB Executive Board is here for you to ask questions too and to help you along the way. How you utilize them is your decision. You will from time to time be asked to make posters to promote clubs, events and sports. Each class is assigned a fundraising event some time during the year:

Freshman- Daddy Daughter Dance (Feb)
Sophomores- Talent Show (March)
Juniors- Plan prom (by January)
Seniors- Prom, senior slideshow and graduation (TBA)

ASB is all about fun, success and involvement. Without you as our fellow leaders to be LHS wouldn’t be what it has become today. We can guarantee you it will be time consuming at times but the end result is worth the effort. Stop sitting on the sidelines and just watching everything pass you by…. become a part of the success and the greatness that is ASB!!!
