GIS Alumni Mentor Application
Dear GIS Alumna/Alumnus,

Thank you for your interest in the GISA Mentorship Program! Outlined below are the guidelines for mentors. Please read them carefully before filling out the application form.

Expectations for Mentors
● Once matched, mentors are highly encouraged to meet with their mentee every other week for two (2) months to establish a strong relationship.
● Regular communication via text, phone, or email throughout the year is also advised.
● Mentor Orientation is required for all new mentors. Returning mentors will be provided with a refresher course.
● Mentors must commit to mentoring a student for at least one year, with the possibility of renewing the mentoring with the same student for up to two years.

Before filling out the mentor application, please consider the following:
● You have the desire to build a relationship with a young adult
● You have at least four years of professional work experience
● You can commit to being matched with your mentee for at least 12 months
● You understand and accept the expectations of being a mentor
