Chardon High School Open Campus / Late Arrival / Early Dismissal 2019-2020
LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY DISMISSAL: Periods 1/7 - Late Arrival/Early Dismissal is available to all grades who apply, have parent verification (signature), and are approved by the administration. It is understood that students must find their own transportation. Students may apply for Late Arrival/Early Dismissal for 1st period/7th period in which they have a study hall listed on their schedule. To apply for Late Arrival/Early Dismissal, you must have passed all courses of the quarter prior to which you are applying. In addition, students are expected to maintain passing courses throughout the school year. This will be monitored quarterly by Chardon High School Administration. To apply for Late Arrival/Early Dismissal, students must fill out the electronic form which will be sent to student emails at the start of each quarter; verified by parent signature. Once applications are reviewed, students must meet with their assigned Assistant Principal (Last Names A-L Bandiera, M-Z Higham) to receive their Open Campus pass.

It is the expectation that students with a Late Arrival/Early Dismissal Pass are not to be present in the building during their Late Arrival/Early Dismissal periods(s). Students with a Late Arrival/Early Dismissal Pass may be present in the building during their Late Arrival/Early Dismissal periods(s) if they are working with a teacher/staff member, during times of inclement weather, or for school assemblies. When students are present during these times, they are required to sign in at the front office and receive a pass for a study hall.

The Late Arrival/Early Dismissal pass may be revoked (at any time) due to Poor Attendance, Excessive Tardiness, Neglecting to Sign-In, Decline in academic performance, or Based on student behaviors. Dismissal from the Freshman Mentoring Program will also result in the permanent removal of a Late Arrival/Early Dismissal pass.

OPEN CAMPUS: Periods 2-6 - Open Campus is available to Seniors and Juniors, with a valid Chardon High School Parking Pass. Students may apply for Open Campus for any period of the day in which they have a study hall listed on their schedule. To apply for Open Campus, you must have earned a 3.25 or above GPA the quarter prior to which you are applying. In addition, students are expected to maintain a 3.25 or above GPA throughout the school year. This will be monitored quarterly by Chardon High School Administration. To apply for Open Campus, students must fill out the electronic form which will be sent to student emails at the start of each quarter; verified by parent signature. Once applications are reviewed, students must meet with their assigned Assistant Principal (Last Names A-L Bandiera, M-Z Higham) to receive their Open Campus pass.
