Thank you for your interest in the Educational Internship programs for high school and college students at West Place Animal Sanctuary (“WPAS”). Upon submission and review of your application, we will contact you to discuss the next steps towards interning, and to answer any questions you may have.

Unless prior arrangements have been made with WPAS staff:

SUMMER INTERNS MUST COMMIT TO THE FULL SUMMER PROGRAM
(June through August)

SCHOOL-YEAR INTERNS MUST COMMIT TO THE FULL SCHOOL YEAR
(September through May)

All student interns will be required to write a brief description of their internship experience with West Place. Students who complete their entire internship and display exemplary work ethic, reliability and dedication will be eligible to receive a non-monetary award recognizing their efforts through the Bobbert Memorial Scholarship Fund. 

All of WPAS’s policies pertaining to interns are explained in detail in the Policies & Procedures document. You will be given access to this document and other training resources upon approval of your application, and you will be expected to read and be familiar with these policies. You will also be expected to sign the Liability Waiver and the Volunteer Pledge, or have a parent/guardian sign. You will be required to watch several training videos, including those that provide a better understanding of our policies for human and animal safety. You will also be expected to stay updated on all new videos created during your internship.
