CLRJ is seeking 20 energetic individuals who are passionate about making our communities' voices heard in this election! Canvassers will be part of CLRJ's civic engagement program, VIVA!, and take part in a 5-day canvassing effort in the communities of East LA, Bell Gardens, and Bell.  Canvassers will contact voters in person via door to door canvassing and over the phone.  

Spend 2 weekends building the movement for social change while earning some money!  Canvassers will be compensated at $15 per hour.

More Details:
The door canvassing program will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 28 & 29, June 4 & 5, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Canvassers must attend a mandatory training on Friday May 27th, 5:30-7:30 PM, and must commit to all 4 days of door canvassing.

The phone canvassing program will take place Tuesday, June 7th, from 12 to 8 PM in downtown Los Angeles.

•  Commitment to CLRJ’s mission, social justice, Latin@ communities and women’s reproductive wellness, health and justice.
•  Ability to work with Latin@s of all ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, social, economic and gender identities.
•  Friendly disposition in-person and on phone communications with community members
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•  Interest and willingness to engage Latin@ voters in East LA, Bell Gardens, and Bell.
•  Experience in voter engagement or community organizing a plus!
•  Personal qualities include energy, enthusiasm, motivation, commitment, integrity, humor, optimism, a positive attitude and the ability to motivate and listen to others
•  Ability to use a computer to document voter responses.
•  Ability to commit to all 4 days of door canvassing!
•  Essential, but not mandatory: A reliable mode of transportation, a valid license and car insurance. If there are issues with this please let us know in the application form.
