Welcome to SURJ Book Club!

This fall, our book club read is The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee. The book looks at how racism is harmful to everyone. A review in The Washington Post says McGhee looks at "how racism could so often be the answer to an increasingly pressing policy question: Why can’t we have nice things?" We'll be taking the book in parts, beginning with Chapters 1-4 in September, Chapters 5-7 in October, and Chapters 8-10 in November. If you are planning to buy the book new, please consider buying from local DSM bookstore Storyhouse Bookpub (all proceeds go to one of our SURJ accountability partners).

We will send a reminder email prior to each meeting (with a Zoom link if meeting virtually).
