Contributing to the Happier Lives Institute's (HLI) Research Agenda
The Happier Lives Institute (HLI) has just been through Charity Entrepreneurship’s Incubation programme and has decided to systemically re-evaluate our research priorities. Your input into this questionnaire will help shape them.
HLI aims to answer the following question: what are the most effective ways to use resources to make lives happier? We plan to measure happiness using subjective well-being (SWB) scores – self-reports of emotions and life satisfaction – and draw on the tools of multiple academic disciplines to investigate the issue at hand. We expect improving global mental health will be a priority, but it is not the only topic we plan to look into.
Thank you for filling out this form. Without further ado:
What research (in HLI's area) would be most valuable to your decision-making? We’re mainly expecting questions about (a) how and whether to use subjective well-being (SWB) as the measure of impact and/or (b) what the priorities are for individuals and organisations that want to make lives happier.
How do you expect this research to affect your decision-making? E.g. "It could alter my charitable giving due to X, Y, Z"
What is your name?
Once we’ve compiled our list of research questions, could we ask you to rate how valuable work on those questions would be to you? This is a google form of 30-ish topics that should take less than 15 minutes to fill in.
