Attention Youth in Canada: Come be part of the inaugural Canada Youth Internet Governance Forum (IGF) happening Friday, 14 November 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario! 

IGFs are a space for dialogue and discussion about the Internet and its evolution around the world. As distinct Internet stakeholders, youth have grown up with the Internet, helped shape its development, but not necessarily been widely consulted on its growth and governance in Canada. The Canada Youth IGF works to bring youth in Canada together, both in-person and virtually, for a day discussing some of the most pressing Internet governance challenges in Canada, to ensure youth are recognized as a distinct stakeholder group in Internet governance.

Developed by the Young Digital Leaders of Canada (previously Youth IGF Canada), Canada's recognized Youth IGF Coordinator by the United Nations Global IGF, this event will build the leadership, knowledge, and networks of the Canadian youth Internet community.

We are excited to launch a travel and accommodations honorarium for youth across Canada. Honorariums will provide travel and accommodations relief to young Internet leaders who would be otherwise unable to attend the annual Canada Youth IGF in person. 

The honorariums program is targeted towards youth in Canada who are:

1. Indigenous;

2. Persons with a disability/disabilities (visible and/or invisible);

3. Young women working to end technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV); and/or

4. Demonstrated young Canadian Internet leaders.

Applicants from rural and remote communities will be favoured. We encourage all applicants even if you do not feel you fully 'fit' our catchment categories.
