Regional Science Champions - 2021 Training Series Registration
Thank you for your interest in the Regional Science Champions project!
Please complete this form to register for one of the 2021 training series. We'll be in touch by early January to confirm your registration. Note that we will be prioritising librarians from regional areas for this program. If there are remaining places in the program, we will offer them to metro libraries.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
This project is a partnership between Scienceworks, Inspiring Victoria through Royal Society of Victoria, and Public Libraries Victoria.
The project will offer mentoring from a Scienceworks program educator who will work with Science Champions - staff member(s) of the selected library - to build skills, knowledge, and networks for developing and delivering science programs for local communities (focused on regional communities). As part of the training series, each Science Champion will produce a science program to be delivered to their community. The Scienceworks educator will support you to choose a topic and delivery mode that will most appeal to your target audience. If possible, we encourage multiple staff (2-3) from the same library service to register so they can
There are two training series available in 2021. Each Science Champion only participates in one training series - the registration form below will ask you to indicate which training series best suits you. There are four 2-hour sessions per series, with sessions running fortnightly from 9:30-11:30am (don't worry, there will be a break in the middle!). We'll also offer a short focused session for each library service participating to talk about your particular context.
