Trans* community members and allies are invited to connect with transgender history on Saturday, July 11th, by visiting I Love the Life I Live Because I Live the Life I Love, a Transgender POC Exhibit, on display at the Solano Pride Center and attending a guided visit of the Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive.
I Love the Life I Live Because I Live the Life I Love is a Transgender POC Exhibit developed as a collaboration between the Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive and the GLBT History Museum. The exhibit includes materials and photographs selected “to celebrate Black, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander trans and gender non-conforming people who lived their authentic lives at the intersection of racism, homophobia, and transphobia often compounded by class prejudice.” A big thank you to the LEF Foundation for making this exhibit display possible!
During each Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive visit, Ms. Bob, the 2026 San Francisco Pride Parade Community Grand Marshal and creator and curator of the archive, will show a variety of posters, pictures, books, and other memorabilia from trans history across the globe.
Who: Trans* community members: trans men; trans women; non-binary, gender expansive, and gender-queer people; and anyone else who is not cisgendered or exists outside of the binary identities of man/woman. Folks who are questioning their gender identity are welcome.
Only five visitors fit in the Archive at a time, so we’ll be able to host a total of 15 folks on July 11th. If more than 10 people register, we may plan subsequent visit days.

Transgender POC Exhibit (at the Solano Pride Center) will be open from 11:30-3 pm
Plan to spend 30-45 minutes viewing the Exhibit.
The Drive from the Exhibit to the Archive takes 20-30 minutes.
Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive Guided Visits will take place from 12:30-2 pm, 2-3:30 pm, and 3:30-5:00 pm.

Participants will be responsible for their own transportation throughout the event. If you are interested in attending but cannot because of transportation challenges, please email cameron@roxleyconsulting.com.
Suggested Donation: We want this event to be accessible to everyone in our community so there is no pressure to make a donation. For those who can make a donation, the suggested range is $1 - $100+. Any amount helps. Donations can be made here or on the day of the event.
If you can't make it for the Double Header, the Transgender POC Exhibit will also be open for viewing July 8-31, Mon-Fri, 11a-4p.
