CONTEST DETAILS

DATE: Saturday, December 9, 2023 (during the annual Winter Glow!)

LOCATION: Germantown Firehouse

DROP-OFF: 10:00am-12:00pm

JUDGING: 12:00pm-2:00pm

PUBLIC VIEWING & SILENT AUCTION: 2:00pm-4:00pm

AWARDS & AUCTION ANNOUNCEMENTS: 4:00pm-4:30pm (Auction bidders must be present to claim prize - see below)

PICK-UP: 4:30pm-6:30pm

CONTEST RULES

Use a separate sign-up for each gingerbread house you will be submitting.

Any type of house or building is eligible for entry (real or imaginary).

All gingerbread houses must be made entirely of edible materials (except for the base).

All gingerbread houses must include some gingerbread.

All gingerbread houses must be placed on a sturdy base (e.g., heavy-duty cardboard or plywood) no bigger than 18” x 18”.

Gingerbread house materials should not require refrigeration.

By displaying a gingerbread house at this event, you give permission for your entry to be photographed and for photos to be used in future promotions for the event.

Event organizers are not responsible for any loss or damage.

Each gingerbread house should include the following information as part of the display:

The title of the gingerbread house
A brief description of the gingerbread house
The name(s) or team name of the gingerbread house builders
A list of materials/ingredients used to create the gingerbread house

CONTEST CATEGORY (CHOOSE ONE}: *

CHILDREN (Ages 5-12 with minimal adult assistance)

TEENS (Ages 13-17 with no adult assistance)

ADULTS (Ages 18+ with or without help from children and teens) For a fun real estate twist, adult gingerbread house entries will be “appraised” as though they are real-life houses/buildings for sale and the appraisal amounts will be on display during the public viewing. No prizes, just bragging rights.

Adult gingerbread house entries have the option of being donated to the silent auction that will help spread holiday cheer to local families. Would you like to have your gingerbread house considered for inclusion in the silent auction?
