Thank you for taking an active interest in the Mackay Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp.

The Mackay Sony Camp will be held at Whitsunday Anglican School in September this year. The aim of this camp is to provide a few days of fun for a group of children with special needs while at the same time giving their families a much-needed break.

The camp will run over the following days: Saturday 22nd September to Tuesday 25th September.

Year 11/12 students from Whitsunday Anglican School will take on the role of Camp Companions. This role involves being a personal companion and carer for a child with a disability. You will be supported be a team of staff, volunteers and medical facilitators. Selected students will be provided with training and must be available for the duration of the Mackay Camp and all training sessions.

Applying for this fantastic opportunity comes with responsibility.

If you are accepted into this program you must agree to attend all training sessions, all the days and nights of the actual camp and to provide the highest level of care to your assigned child. These key dates are being finalised and will be confirmed with your acceptance letter.

There will be a charge of $25 to participate in this program. This covers 50% of you Austswim Swimming Qualification. If necessary, applicants will be interviewed to obtain further information.

This application form needs to be completed by Friday 16 February.

If you are successful, a letter will be sent via Parent Lounge for your parents to approve your place as a companion.
