Join our efforts to help gather signatures for our fair elections campaign! We’re collecting over 15,000 signatures from registered El Paso city voters to transform El Paso’s elections to be fairer and more representative of everyday El Pasoans.  

This Ballot Initiative project is a petition to enact ordinances for the city of El Paso, TX for:

(1) an ordinance to limit individual contributions to political campaigns for mayor and city council to $1,000 per election.

(2) an ordinance to public financing for candidates for mayor and city council who voluntarily agree to limit their campaign contributions and expenditures and demonstrate community support for candidacy;

(3) and an ordinance to use rank choice voting for the election of mayor and city council where voters rank candidates in terms of preference, and if no candidate receives a majority, candidates with the fewest votes will be eliminated and their votes instantly counted for the voter's second choice, and so on, until there is a majority vote for one candidate, so long as permitted by state law.
