Membership
Membership of WECSZ (hereinafter referred to as the ‘the Society’) is open to any person, family, corporate body or institution wanting to support the work of the Society. All that is needed is to fill in and submit a membership form to WECSZ National Office or any preferred WECSZ Branch. Members are encouraged to actively take part in conservation activities and promote the Society’s objectives to the best of their abilities.
Benefits and Rights
All membership categories (except school club membership) have the right to vote at the Society’s Annual General Meetings. All categories offer full participation in the Society’s activities, Black Lechwe Magazine (when available), use of the society’s facilities (Camps & Lodges) at discounted rates.
1 & 2. Club Membership
This class of membership is open to available to all Chongololo and Chipembele Conservation Clubs in schools, or in any community grouping registered with a Society branch. This membership is open to individuals under 18 years of age. Please note that, if you so desire, you can also pay for a school to be a member of the Chongololo and Chipembele Conservation Club managed by the Society.
3. Student Membership
This category of membership is open to full time students below the age of 18 on 1st January, who are permanently resident in Zambia.
4. Individual Membership
This category of membership is open to individuals resident in Zambia, 18 years of age and above on 1st January.
5. Family Membership.
This category of membership is open to families permanently resident in Zambia, including the spouse and legally declared children under 18 years of age.
6. Conservation Partner
This category of membership is available for Civil Society Organisations/NGO, Associations and SMEs.
Opportunities available include; information sharing, providing technical assistance in environmental education and sustainable initiatives; providing in-field ‘eyes and ears’ on conservation issues. Conservation Partners have voting rights for two members.
7. Corporate Membership
Corporate membership is granted either by the payment of the corporate subscription, or automatically through a donation equal to or exceeding the corporate subscription fee. Two full memberships are included for any staff of the applying corporate body. Corporate members are entitled to include the Society’s Logo in their advertising and may place their logo on the Society’s Publications. Terms and Conditions apply.
8. International Membership
This category of membership is open to individuals and families not permanently resident in Zambia.
