What is CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and is a farming model which connects farmers with customers who want to enjoy organic vegetable produce while supporting the farmer by buying a subscription for the season. By signing up for a subscription, you are directly supporting organic & local agriculture and investing to our growing community and regeneration of the land. It’s also a great way to feel connected to the seasons and experience the summer abundance.

Our subscription seeks to invite customers to join as members of the CSA for the season and commit to the purchase of weekly produce, known as a weekly 'veggie box share'. This means that as growers we can plan, plant, grow and harvest what is needed to fill our weekly boxes optimally. This not only reduces food waste but builds a solid base of support around us as growers to focus our time effectively on growing and delivering fresh nutritious veggies to you!

CSA is also a great opportunity for customers who are open to seeing their kitchen as a creative space and our vegetables as the spark of creativity which they are willing to experiment with and give your favorite recipes a fun twist!

It’s all part of the greater goal of CSA to develop further food diversity and teach our communities and children how to eat seasonally.

Benefits of your CSA membership:
  • A weekly ( or bi-weekly) share of our organic harvest that is fresh, locally grown, nutritious food that is free from chemicals and pesticides
  • Veggie box subscribers will be prioritized for exclusive produce.
  • Reducing waste packaging and plastic. We always aim to minimize packaging and use reusable and plastic free options whenever we can
  • A newsletter every few weeks sharing the latest seasonal happenings in the market garden
  • Getting to know the people who grow your food, how they grow it and the land on which its grown
  • Supporting a local, sustainable family-run enterprise

What should I expect in the boxes?

You should expect a wide variety of vegetables throughout the season: From sprouts, microgreens, herbs, flowers, to different brassicas (kale, cabbage, broccoli), alliums (chives, leeks, onions), root veggies, and also some of our preserved veggie goodies! The boxes in the beginning will be more leafy and lighter, and as the season develops,  the boxes will be more rooty and dense!  The timing will depend on how the weather is treating our crops!

If you have any further questions or concerns about this method, please send us an e-mail to sydraholt@gmail.com or call Alejandra at 768 1624

What does a CSA share cost?

Duration of the season is 13 weeks from Week 28 - Week 40 (8th July - 1st October)

CSA Share weekly - 5.500 ISK / Week  (71.500 ISK / Season) Option available only for North subscribers
CSA Share every other week - 5.500 ISK / Week ( 38.500 ISK / Season) Option available in all locations

*Shipping fees apply for some locations. More detailed information once you have registered.*

Example of a weekly share from last summer mid August:
White Cabbage, Beetroot, Carrots, Purple Kale, White/Red Russian, Broccoli

Because paying for an entire CSA share at once can be challenging, you have the option to join the CSA with a payment plan.

If cost of the share is an impediment to joining our CSA please contact Alejandra at sydraholt@gmail.com to discuss alternative options. This season we will offer volunteering opportunities as an exchange alternative for our CSA box subscribers.

What if I go on vacation?

Contact us before the beginning of the season so we can find a solution on time. Usually our subscribers will arrange themselves some friend or family member to enjoy the box on their absence. (It's also a good "thank you" gesture if they are taking care of any pets or plants while you are traveling)
