ALFB 2022 Annual Vote
Every November ALFB members vote on Board positions (Board members serve for 2 years, positions are staggered so that some positions are renewed in odd years and some in even years.) The Board also reviews the Bylaws that govern our organization annually and recommend changes. Below you will find the information you need to cast your vote. 

We collect your name and email to ensure that only active members vote and that each member votes only once. This information is only seen by the Membership Board member. Only the vote tally (without names or emails) is shared with the full Board and the Membership.

Please vote for a ALFB Board President. Current President Brenda Bowman is stepping down. Since no one meeting the Bylaws requirements has volunteered for this position, you may write in a candidate or abstain.

Board Vacant Seat: Secretary

Please vote for a possible vacancy of the Secretary position.  Current Secretary Gladys Jones has volunteered to take on the Gallery Director position.  If she is voted into that position, we will need a replacement Secretary to fill the remaining 1 year before that position is up for election. Jennifer Gawrys  has volunteered to take on this position.  You may also write in a full name of an active 2-year member or abstain.
Bylaws:  ARTICLE III MISSION, QUALIFICATIONS & MEMBERSHIP - League Member Change *
Currently reads:
"League Member: Upon payment of annual dues, a person who is actively engaged in supporting the creation of fine arts may hold office, participate in all shows and functions, and display one piece of art in the member area of the gallery. A member will have the following responsibilities:

1.     Serve as general meeting host/ once a year or as deemed by the Board.
2.     Participate in League functions and/or committees.    "

Board recommends deleting 1. from the Bylaws, as we no longer run meetings in this fashion due to the growth in our membership size and new in Center/Online general meeting format conducted since COVID. 

Bylaws:  ARTICLE III MISSION, QUALIFICATIONS & MEMBERSHIP -  Gallery Member Change *
Currently reads:
"Gallery Member: Upon completing the interview process and upon payment of annual dues, a member in good standing who wishes to display their work in the Gallery will be a League member with all those responsibilities, plus the following Gallery Member responsibilities:

1.     Work in the Gallery as many days as deemed necessary to keep said Gallery open.  The number of days required to work will be determined by the number of open days and the number of Artists that wish to display their art; and

2.     Remain in good standing in order to continue to display.

3.     Gallery guidelines for displaying artwork will be determined and maintained by the Board and a copy of said guidelines will be given to each Gallery Member. "

Board Recommendation:  Revise, adding the words "for compliance" to 3. The revised sentence will read:

"3.     Gallery guidelines for displaying artwork will be determined and maintained by the Board and a copy of said guidelines will be given to each Gallery Member for compliance." 

Bylaws:  ARTICLE IV: ORGANIZATIONAL FRAMEWORK - Section B Change *
Currently reads:
"SECTION B.  The regular meetings of membership shall be held monthly for no less than eight (8) months a year, unless restricted by State/local decree or natural disaster; then applicable guidelines will be followed.  "

Board Recommendation:  Revise, Changing the minimum number of monthly meetings . The revised sentence will read:

"SECTION B.  The regular meetings of membership shall be held monthly for no less than quarterly, unless restricted by State/local decree or natural disaster; then applicable guidelines will be followed.  "
