Jewellery Making 101 is an in-person course happening with Workman Arts and Scarborough Arts Arts part of COMMUNITY+Connects Programming. Registration will be open until September 1, at which point accepted registrants will be contacted. Please note there is a limit on participants.

Instructor: Laurie Poirier
Laurie Poirier is a Toronto Artisan who has been crafting in various forms since childhood. As an adult, she began teaching paper crafting and through that found her passion for teaching jewellery to all ages. Laurie has taught children in schools to seniors in Church groups. Her classes range from Jewellery 101 to more advanced Chainmaille and Wire working. Laurie has been selling at craft shows since 2010 and teaching since 2012 at Michael's, John Bead Outlet, Gem Expo, Craftandian, GoBoomerang, Scarborough Arts and her own private home studio.

Class Description:
Learn to create your own jewellery in this fun informative class. Laurie will show you how to weave simple supplies into wonderful pieces that you can wear, give as gifts or even use to create a small business. You will learn how to make earrings, rings, strung bracelets and necklaces, a little wire wrapping and a little chainmaille.
