Data repositories have a crucial role in the development of Open Science as they provide free access to the basic building stones of science: data. Ideally these data repositories will follow the FAIR principles (

The aim of this questionnaire is to collect information about global data repository implementation and their degree of ‘FAIR’ness.

This questionnaire consists of 25 questions and will take about 20 minutes to complete. It is directed at the technical person responsible for repository development or maintenance. However another complementary questionnaire is available aimed at repository managers or librarians. Responses to this questionnaire will be archived and used to obtain a comprehensive overview concerning the degree of ‘FAIR’ness of existing data repositories. The information that you provide will be treated confidentially. Findings will be compiled into presentations, reports and publications on an aggregated level (not on an individual level).
