SDSCPA High School Summer Intensives are provided to students interested in continuing their education and furthering their art during the summer months. Classes are free to SDSCPA high school students**, and only require signing up for the class, and a commitment to attend.

Available Summer Intensives
Acting: This workshop will dive further into acting styles and techniques.

Instructor: Jenn Banda
Eligible Students: Incoming 9th - Graduated Senior
Dates & Times: August 6 - 10, 2018; 10am - 1pm
Location: Ole Kittleson Little Theatre

AP World History: This summer intensive is a free opportunity to develop historical thinking,
geography, and writing skills needed to be successful in this school year course.
Students will fine tune their writing techniques, develop their writing techniques,
develop skills for analyzing primary sources, and brush up on their world
geography. Additional time will be developed to test prep strategies.

Cabaret Audition Workshop: This workshop is a comprehensive look into the show and what
is required for the auditions over a three day period. This workshop will involve
singing, dancing, and acting. It is NOT a requirement for auditioning in the fall.

Creative Writing - Spoke Word: This workshop is a week long intensive in writing and
performing the spoken word.

Dates & Times: August 6-10, 2018; 8am - 10am
Location: Rm. 301

Dance: This is a free workshop opportunity for dance majors to further their dance studies
at SDSCPA. The intensive emphasizes both ballet and modern technique reflecting
the dance major curriculum. Students will participate in daily Ballet and Modern
technique classes with SDSCPA Faculty and Guest Artists. Students will also
participate in repertory classes where they will learn choreography that is performed
on the final day of the intensive.

Musical Theatre: 33 1/3 Workshop in association with the San Diego Rep

Instructor: Rayme Sciaroni
Eligible Students: Incoming 9th - Graduated Senior
Dates & Times: June 14 - 30, 2018, 9am - 3pm
Location: Ole Kittleson Little Theatre

Visual Arts: This intensive is an opportunity for students to further their visual arts studies
in the summer while attending SDSDCPA. These free art classes allow students to
explore their creativity and pursue further instruction in observational drawing, life
drawing, acrylic painting, and oil painting. Students will be drawing from life and
learn to understand proportion, value, perspective and composition. Painting
instruction will be focused on materials, composition, color theory, and
contemporary techniques and processes while working with value.
