Letter to the Editor
The Austin American-Statesman encourages letters from readers.

We strive to keep the forum open for as many contributors as possible, so please do not submit a letter if you've been published in the Statesman in the past 30 days.

We edit letters for brevity, grammar and clarity. Letters do not exceed 150 words. (If you wish to submit commentary of 625 words, please send it to views@statesman.com.) Because of the volume of letters we receive, we cannot return or acknowledge letters that are not used.

We do not publish phone numbers or email addresses with letters. Anonymous letters will not be published. For additional information, please see our Letters Guidelines and FAQ.

Please note, this is the form for the Austin, Texas, newspaper. If you're trying to write to the Idaho Statesman, click here.
