Breaking Bread, Building Bonds
Breaking Bread, Building Bonds is a new initiative from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. There will be one hundred dinners held across the city, each with ten everyday people all from varied and distinct ethnicities, identities, and faiths. While a particular emphasis will be placed on engaging young people, we welcome all committed to building bonds. This includes everyday New Yorkers who are not traditionally recognized thought leaders and those not otherwise significantly engaged in civic life. Breaking Bread, Building Bonds is intended to bring all communities together to unite us by shared commonalities and building the bonds we need to peaceably heal our communities. If you would like to be a participate or host for these dinners, please fill out this link.

Self-identity
Optional: We are all in this together. That is the meaning of One Brooklyn. We are the living model of intersectionality. We are Black and White, Latino and Asian, Jewish and Christian, Muslim and Buddhist, gay and straight, transgender and cisgender. Each one of us is an intersection of different ethnicities, identities, and faiths. We need to see ourselves in each other. The challenges we face as New Yorkers are faced together, from rising rents to access to quality education and health care. We won’t succeed until we all succeed.
