Superintendent's Student Advisory - Application
Hello Students of Waterbury Public Schools,
As Superintendent, I am committed to hearing what our students have to say and seek to open opportunities to hear from you regularly. For the first time, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council will be opening an application process for students in grades 6-12 in Waterbury Public Schools.
Student voice is very important and as such I am excited to receive applications from you. If you would like to participate by engaging in thoughtful and meaningful conversations relative to school issues, concerns and recommendations for achieving our Portrait of the Graduate in Waterbury consider applying.
I am seeking dedicated, passionate and curious students, the student who is or wants to be the "Portrait of a Graduate". If you are a student in grades 6-12, attending any of our Waterbury Public Schools and wish to take part in this council, please fill out an application by Monday, September 23, 2019.
The council will meet every 2 months for approximately 2 hours after school beginning in October. You will have an opportunity to dialogue and problem-solve with the Superintendent of Waterbury Public Schools. At times, you will meet with the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet to learn more about our district, school leadership and ways to engage students in improving our district.
All applications and responses will be reviewed. It is anticipated that 20-25 students may be chosen to participate during the 2019-20 school year.
Student voice is important, let’s hear from you!
