2024 LEAD Fellowship: Registration
Deadline to Register: June 17, 2024
Program begins week of June 23th and runs until August 9th

This 9-week, hybrid Fellowship aiming to Lead, Empower, Advocate, and Dream big for our youth.
We will meet twice a week in total: once a week virtually (tentatively Tuesdays 11am-12:30pm) and once a week in-person which will be about 2-3 hours (day and time is dependent on factors. The Fellowship students will be informed a week in advance).

In this fellowship, you will:
  • discuss historical and current issues around racial inequity
  • discuss the needs and possible solutions for community advocacy
  • engage with local organizations in various capacities including field trips and site visits
  • learn soft skills that can be utilized in university/entry level jobs you may be applying to
Once completed, you will receive:
  • Certification of completion
  • Letter of recommendation
  • A $250 stipend as financial assistance to pursue community and advocacy work during the fellowship
Application Criteria:
  • Application is for those 15-20 years of age
  • Be able to commit to the entirety of the program duration
  • Have access to Internet/computer for virtual work, or communicate need for accommodation to receive support if you do not have access
  • Have safe access to transportation, or communicate need for assistance
  • Demonstrate the values and motivation which fit the ideals of the program, including dedication to community care, engagement, and advocacy
  • Priority is given to AAPI and BIPOC applicants located in Michigan, but all are welcome to apply

NEXT STEPS: Once you register, you will be notified soon after June 12th if you were accepted as a fellow. Only 10 students will be awarded the fellowship.
