SCFF is powered by people who love film, creativity, community, and being part of something memorable. From welcoming filmmakers and guests to helping behind the scenes, supporting screenings, pitching in at special events, and keeping everything moving, our volunteers are a huge part of what makes the festival happen.

We have bold plans for SCFF 2026, and we’d love for you to be part of them.

Please fill out this form and tell us about your interests, availability, and where you’d most like to jump in. We’ll use your responses to help match you with volunteer opportunities that are a great fit.

Join us October 14–18, 2026 for five days of films, filmmakers, parties, conversations, and plenty of Santa Cruz energy.

Pre-Festival Volunteers: We’ll need extra hands with festival preparation, organizing materials, assembling credentials, event prep, and other projects leading up to opening night.

Ticket Sales: Front of theater, sales and confirming digital tickets.

Ushering: Assisting seating and answering questions about the program.

Runner: Bringing supplies, equipment, programs, etc. from venue to venue.

Lead Assistant: Assisting President, and/or Hospitality with general tasks.

Event Set-Up: Help us transform our venues before screenings, parties, panels, events.

Event help: Work an event - greeting, helping vendors, keeping the space welcoming and tidy, etc.

Event Break Down: Help our team wrap up events, organize materials, and get venues back in order.

Selling Swag at each screening/event.
