District 300 Pathways Programming is available to rising 9th and 10th grade students. This means current 8th and 9th grade students applying for the next school year.
Students who wish to enroll in a Pathway Program should discuss program options with their counselor prior to applying to ensure they understand the Pathway and plan their courses.
Upon acceptance to a Pathways program the student and parent/guardian will need to sign a commitment contract stating the following:
I understand that by being enrolled in a Pathway Program, I am agreeing to a series of prescribed courses that support my learning within my identified College and Career Pathway. I also understand that if approved for a school transfer, withdrawing my participation in a Pathways Program outside of my base high school will result in me attending my base/home school and may have an impact on athletic eligibility per IHSA guidelines.
As being a part of the Pathway Program, I agree to the following:
1) Enroll in at least one course each school year included in the program, unless course offerings do not support this
2) Demonstrate respectful behavior and consistent attendance in all classes
3) Use all tools and equipment appropriately and as directed
4) Demonstrate academic integrity
5) Maintain a C or better in all Pathways Program classes
6) Represent the district in a professional manner in internship and middle college opportunities
7) Veterinary Science ONLY: the exchange of IEP, 504, and/or other related documents that impact student success in the classroom between Community Unit School District 300 and Central Unit School District 301.
If chosen to participate in a Pathway Program, a Pathway Commitment Contract will be emailed to the family and student the first week of March which will need to be completed prior to April 1st and emailed to
pathways@d300.org. If the chosen Pathway Program is
not offered at your base high school, an Intra-District Program Transfer (IDPT) Application must also be submitted with the Commitment Contact. This application will be included in the same email as the Pathway Commitment Contract.
Applications will be open from November through February 15th.
D300 has been approved for eight (8)
College & Career Pathway Endorsement (CCPE) programs by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Interested students should start with this application but can complete the CCPE Commitment Agreement whenever they would like during high school as this is in addition to our current pathway programs or enhancement to pathways we have offered in the past. Pathway programs listed below that have an "*" indicated that they are CCPE programs. For more information click
HERE.
*Pathway programs are subjected to change at any time which may include the expansion to additional schools or the ending of a pathway at a school. Students will be placed at their base high school if the program they have applied for is offered there at the time of the application. Future siblings are not grandfathered into programs that require an IDPT for any reason.
