Aloha! If you plan to submit a student short film to this year's Future Filmmakers Showcase with the Hawai'i International Film Festival and Daniel K. Inouye Institute, we encourage and highly recommend you register for this free panel session! This open call is for any student in Hawai'i, grades 6 - 12.

Friday, September 18, 2020 - Deadline to submit to the Future Filmmakers Film Initiative Open Call - A Message to The President: Transitions in Democracy
November 5 - 29, 2020 - HIFF 40th Fall Festival (DKII Future Filmmaker Showcase scheduled within program)

All participants are encouraged to attend the Future Filmmakers Q&A on Zoom on Friday, August 21, 2020 to connect with peers across the state and learn from past student winners, as well as from local documentary filmmaker, Ciara Lacy. You'll have an opportunity to brainstorm, share your film idea, and get feedback on your message.
