Welcome; Community Resilience Volunteers are important and valued members of the wider multi-agency resilience community. Your local knowledge and expertise coupled with the skills developed through a programme of training will do much to ensure the future resilience of your community.

This registration form tells you what you can expect from us, and what we hope for from you.
We appreciate your commitment and we will do all we can to make your volunteering experience as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. We recognise the need to be as flexible as possible in order to allow you to fit your volunteering around your own personal commitments, we will do all that we can to support your continuation as a volunteer.

• Introduce you to Community Resilience and explain how it works and your role in it.
• Provide all appropriate training to enable you to undertake your role.
• Respect and recognise your personal skills, opinions and personal circumstances.
• Provide insurance cover*
• Provide regular opportunity to engage with Community Resilience Leaders and provide feedback on any aspect of
your volunteering activity so that we can continue to make improvements.
• Reimburse all reasonable expenses incurred as a direct result of your engagement in approved activity.
• Demonstrate through our behaviour and communication with you our commitment to the promotion of diversity and
equality.
• Demonstrate all due diligence in ensuring your safety.
• Resolve any complaints you may have.

You Will:
• Complete the mandatory training for your chosen role.
• Be familiar with and comply with published policies, the leadership structure and local chain of command.
• Apply your training and skills to the benefit of the community, other volunteers and to enhance your own experience.
• Present copy of driver’s licence, appropriate insurance and MOT Certificate (when appropriate) if using private vehicle
for Community Resilience activity. (Please check with your insurer that you are covered for volunteer activity).
• Follow instructions and guidance in respect of: Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Confidentiality of personal
information of anyone you meet in the course of your volunteering activities.
• Ensure you fulfill any legal responsibility you may have for the supervision and safeguarding of a named young
volunteer (14-17).

NOTE: In the context of Community Resilience North Somerset, for engagement in any activity requested, sanctioned by or normally undertaken by North Somerset Council, volunteers are North Somerset Council volunteers.

This registration is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us and may be cancelled at any time by either party. Neither of us intends any employment relationship to be created either now or at any time in the future.
