Maui Ocean Cleanup Data Entry Form
Mahalo nui loa for sending us this information! Regardless if your cleanup was small or large, from 1 to 1,000 items, it will be extremely useful for our analyses of trash and discarded fishing gear in our nearshore environment.

Safety guidelines:
Always use the buddy system when in the ocean. Freedivers and SCUBA divers are required to have a dive float/flag. Wear gloves to protect yourself from sharp items. Please remember that harming any creatures during the process of removing trash is not permitted! Don't do more harm than good: please use caution and judgement if something has been overgrown by live coral (for example). Be patient when removing line around coral heads since pulling can harm coral polyps and invertebrates you might not see.

Entering the information in these sections is quick, and we'd be happy to send you a data sheet to fill out while you're sorting through the items during your next cleanup to make entering it even easier. If you'd rather send us photos of what you removed instead, feel free: HIhawksbills@gmail.com
