FairPlay Canada is a coalition of organizations, spearheaded by Bell, asking the CRTC to implement a website-blocking system to curb piracy (
). They want to create an official Internet censorship committee within the federal government, which has sparked concern about the far-reaching implications this will have for the future of the Internet in Canada.
This radical proposal will lead to legitimate content and speech being censored, violating our right to free expression and the principles of Net Neutrality, which the federal government has consistently pledged support for.
On February 28, citizens from across the country are standing up against this bad plan at
