MASFAP Who's Making a Difference Scholarship (value: $1,000.00)
The Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP) is dedicated to serving students and opening avenues to access the benefits of higher education and advocating for the maintenance of high ethical standards in the financial aid profession. Through early awareness and outreach we strive to help students to achieve and fulfill their dreams of a post- secondary education. We want to know who is making a difference and inspiring you to fulfill your dreams of a post-secondary education! Share your inspiring story with us and be considered for a one-time $1,000 scholarship.

Scholarship Information:
- A check will be issued in the amount of $1,000.00 to the school you are attending in fall 2018 to be applied to your student account.
- What the scholarship can be used for: tuition, institutional fees, room, board, or books

Who Can Apply:
Any 2018 Graduating Senior from a Missouri High School planning to attend a private or public 2 or 4 year institution, or vocational-technical school in Missouri in fall 2018.

Scholarship Application Requirements:
1. Write an essay (300 word maximum) that describes a person in your life who is inspiring you to fulfill your post-secondary education dreams. Someone who is encouraging you, inspiring you , and making a difference in your life. It could be (but not limited to) a family friend, a counselor, a teacher , an older sibling or a member of the community. Be sure to include your post-secondary educational goals and how this person is helping you to achieve those goals as well as impacting your life. Please send the essay to Earlyawarenesscommittee@gmail.com. Make sure you include your full name and the name of your school with your submission!
2. Snap a selfie of you and the person making a difference and send it to Earlyawarenesscommittee@gmail.com (make sure it is in JPEG format). Make sure you include your full name and the name of your school with your submission!

Choosing a Winner:
We are looking for inspiring stories about students and people who make a difference in the lives of students. (Remember: grammar and spelling are important in any essay contest!) The MASFAP Early Awareness Committee will select the top 5 applications/stories. The top 5 applications/ stories will be shared with the MASFAP Membership and will be voted upon at the annual conference in November 2017. One winner and one alternate will be chosen.

How the Winner with be notified:
A representative from MASFAP will contact the winner directly by phone. So be sure to clear out those voicemails just in case you are chosen as the winner!! Additionally, the winner and the alternate will receive written correspondence via email about their selection and will be provided with additional instructions. Confirmation of enrollment at Missouri private or public 2 or 4 year institution, or vocational-technical school will be requested before payment is made.
