To enhance the local community’s participation, the City of Los Angeles has given disadvantaged job seekers priority for construction worker positions on the project. Applicants considered disadvantaged include veterans, single parents, homeless individuals, those with limited education (no GED or high school diploma), and others. Documents providing proof of disadvantaged status must be presented to qualify.
On-site construction jobs are open to all qualified applicants. Members of the community who live nearby, particularly those directly affected by this project (the greater Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles area and downtown Los Angeles) are especially welcome to learn more about these opportunities. We encourage job seekers interested in a career in construction to contact our Trades Liaison for information.
Due to the fact that the City has signed a Project Labor Agreement, active union membership is required for all construction and trades jobs. Our Trades Liaison can provide Information about unions and membership requirements as well as union training programs available to aspiring construction workers.
