MyStI Summer Internship Proposal

Assalamu alaikum!

Thank you for taking the challenge to write a proposal for investigating a community/youth issue.

The proposal has five components. A total of 100 points is assigned for the proposal. The breakdown of point for each component of the proposal and the five areas of concerns are stated below.

1. Motivation & Background - 20 points
2. Hypothesis and Objective - 20 points
3. Approach & Methodology - 40 points
4. Deliverable - 10 points
5. Impact - 10 points


Please limit your response to the word limit assigned for each component of the proposal and submit by May 3, 2015.

    What are you trying to do? What is the problem? Why is this research needed? How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice? How would the results of the proposed research fill this need and be beneficial?

    State your hypothesis and describe how it could help solve your problem. Articulate your objectives using absolutely no jargon. Describe what specifically this project will accomplish.

    APPROACH & METHODOLOGY

    This section needs to answer self-imposed questions and should reflect that the student has good understanding of the problem and of the barriers in the path. Some of the questions that should be answered include- (a) What are the constraints (if any)? (b) What are the technical challenges and uncertainties? (c) What are the different approaches to this problem? (d) What's new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful? Explain your methodology to conduct the research and to obtain the stated objectives.

    DELIVERABLES

    (Itemize the list of deliverable with rough dates so that you can make concerted efforts to achieve them.) What are the midterm and final "exams" to check for success? How will progress be measured?
