Urban Ecology Oshkosh - May 2024 Pilot
We need lots of help to get Urban Ecology Oshkosh off the ground. We are currently looking for program leaders who are known for sharing their knowledge of the natural world and inspiring others to learn and grow. If this describes you, we need you! Please fill out this form. 

Formal teaching experience is preferred but not required. Some training will be provided. (note there is an environmental education course in Oshkosh coming up in a few weeks)

Our nature programs may be held at Winnebago County Park or various locations around Oshkosh. It depends on the travel ability of the classes we work with. Our current possible partners include:  
- Trinity Lutheran (topic: broadly on how ecosystems work, nine 7th/8th grade students in a 12:30-2:30 slot)
- Boys and Girls Club (after school time)
- REAL Oshkosh literacy project (1student in middle and ~16 in high school, many with refugee backgrounds - topic: literacy in the outdoors - possible essay reading with ethics discussion combined with nature journaling)
- Vel Phillips Middle School (science topics) as possible partners.

To optimize our program, we aim to split into groups consisting of 2 UEO teachers working with 2-12 children. 

Presently, this is volunteer work, but if all goes well it will evolve into paid positions!
