Register for YEP's youth leadership and grants program
This program is an opportunity for you to gain leadership skills, run a project of your choosing, receive valuable experience for post-secondary or job applications, or get volunteer hours. This is open for youths ages 15-29 years old.

Here’s what you will do:

  1. Identify a need/issue in your community and organize a project that will address that need/issue. You will also receive a grant of up to $500 (or more, depending on your project details) to fund your project. You can run a basketball tournament to bring youth together and promote physical exercise, you can give out homeless care bags to help homeless individuals, you can start a community library box to encourage reading, or you can do just about anything else you can think of.
Check out this website to see more awesome community projects that you can do! (www.youthfund.ca/ideas)

  2. Learn from different workshops and 1-on-1 coaching to help you plan your project and gain useful skills (e.g., project planning, budgeting, etc.).

Here’s how you will benefit:

  • Develop project management skills
  • Gain volunteer hours
  • Get a certificate of recognition and reference letter
  • Learn and/or improve your skillset (like identifying community issues, budgeting, marketing, public speaking, evaluation)
  • A chance to make a positive difference in your community!

Program schedule: We currently have 3 in-person cohorts this July 2025 in Downtown Toronto (location will be shared once official registration is confirmed). Please choose when you're available, and we'll get back to you. Please note that there may be a long waitlist, but we are actively getting back to everyone.
