The Dash for Dan 5k will be held in memory of Dan Seaver, former Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, in effort to raise money for the Dan Seaver endowment. Through serving in his position, Dan was an important and respected advocate for the students. Mr. Seaver actively participated in the College’s chapters of the American Student Dental Organization, the Student National Dental Association, the Hispanic Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Research, Student Research Group, and the American Association of Women Dentists. He was loved by all for his service to the students, colleges, friends, and family. In the early 2000’s, Dan passed from his battle with stomach cancer. His spirit continues on through his wife Cynthia, daughter Nancy, and twin sons James and Robert.
All proceeds are awarded as scholarship to two students based on Dan’s own criteria. These students must demonstrate outstanding contributions to their community, the profession of dentistry, and their school in particular. Please join us on April 21st to celebrate the life of Dan, and award these scholarships to the UKCD students. Race day registration will be held at 12:30 pm with the race beginning around 1 pm. Please send your registration fee of $25 to @Ethan-Vanwynsberg via Venmo. Venmo payment verification is performed using 9904 as the last 4 digits of the associated phone number. This registration includes race day snacks/refreshments, and registration prior to April 5th includes a race day T-shirt! Same day registration will be open to all.
If you do not plan to run/walk in the 5K and wish to make a donation, all support is accepted and appreciated. There will be a donation box held at registration on race day, and any donations can be directed to the Venmo listed. All are welcomed to come and join us for the events surrounding the race!
