Thank you for submitting to be a part of our book – What is Friendship? My name is Jennifer Maloney-Prezioso, the Co-Founder/CEO of Next Table Entertainment & Media. My Co-Founder/COO, Rachelle Fender and I are thrilled to have you submit to our global storytelling project.

I would like to share a little bit about where this idea came from. When I first got married, I began taking the four-hour train ride between New York City and Boston every week, and still do. I would work on my computer and on breaks, I’d watch the older couple in front of me sharing a sandwich or the young dad playing games with his daughter or the boisterous group of college students going to the beach for the weekend or the grandmother teaching her grandson about the history of New England. And I started to think about the way people express different emotions, I began to ask… What is love? What is happiness? What is friendship? I also began to think about how I would have answered each question as a child, in my teens, twenties, thirties and forties. I realized how different the answer would have been each year, depending on what was happening in my life. This is when the idea for this book series was born.

The concept is simple: this international, multi-generational book series will feature 100 people from age 5 to 105, from all over the world, answering the same question. The first book in the series is What Is Friendship? Each book will highlight how our answers are shaped by age, life experience and culture, revealing our similarities as well as our differences and reflect our global humanity.
