Wednesday, May 31st from 18:00 - 20:00
Where: Thuis Wageningen (Stationsstraat 32, 6701 AM Wageningen)
Join us for an evening of zine-making hosted by Chetana Pai, founder of CHA40S Theory
. Zines take their name from fanzine, which is short for “fan magazine.” Zines were first created in the science fiction fandoms of the 1930s, and have since been adopted by countless counterculture movements to give people a voice outside the scope of the mainstream media. These publications have evolved through the feminist punk music scene of the 1980s, took shape digitally in the 1990s, and continue to be a source of alternative inspiration and power both in print and online.
In this workshop, Chetana will guide you through a collaborative zine-making process centring on the theme of care. Using recycled and found objects, you are invited to socialize, reflect on care practices in your own life, and indulge in the craft of self-publication. No previous experience is necessary and entrance is free. Spots are limited, you can sign up below!
CHA4OS Theory aims to provide and foster creative safe spaces for community, learning, and reflection through making, they are based in Rotterdam.
