The Salvador M. Bolaños - Honorary Founder’s Scholarship Award - $2,000
(Requirements - Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher)

Salvador M. Bolaños the co-founder of SCCLR. Salvador possessed leadership, laughter and hard work. He was a loving husband to Debra Bolaños (President of SCCLR), father to Sal A. Bolaños (Vice President - SCCLR), friend to staff members and volunteer members both past and present. Salvador passed away in 2016 and left a legacy that we are now pushing every year to inspire students to work hard, never give up, and live life with a purpose.

It was Salvador's unwillingness to give-up or turn down a job, that has lead SCCLR to rise up and dedicate every move to his memory, and to give back to those who possess his same spirit. Salvador stood for so much.He was able to make an impact not only on SCCLR, but also the community and the young adults around him. Salvador was a coach, a mentor, a listener, a collaborator, a cultural influencer, an immigrant, a community activist, and an inspiration man to be around which made him so irreplaceable. This new scholarship is named after Salvador. He stood for what he believed in, and that was that every man and woman can become exactly who they want to be with some passion, hard work and enthusiasm.
