Travel Funds for Pre-SIPS 2019 Elicitation Workshop
The SIPS 2019 annual meeting will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands from July 7-9, 2019. Prior to the full meeting, a funded workshop led by Associate Professor Fiona Fidler (U. Melbourne) will take place on July 5-6, 2019, also in Rotterdam. Participants in the workshop will receive a travel grant of $400 USD (if your home institution is in EU/UK) or $1000 USD (if your home institution is outside EU/UK) to offset costs associated with the meeting. Participants are encouraged to attend both the pre-SIPS workshop and the full SIPS meeting. Spaces for the SIPS 2019 meeting are expected to fill quickly; individuals who plan to attend are recommended to register at their earliest convenience.
The workshop will last between 1.5 and 2 working days, during which time attendees will predict the outcomes of replication studies. Names will be selected until funds are depleted. The organizers aim for approximately one-third of attendees to come from EU/UK, with the remaining attendees coming from outside the EU/UK. Early career researchers (graduate students and post-docs) are very welcome and encouraged to attend.
Advertised travel grants expected to be made available, following the award of DARPA grant funding. Funds and arrangements will be confirmed in early 2019. Awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested to participate in the workshop should complete the form below, and if selected, organizers will confirm details in early 2019.
To apply, please complete the form below by January 15, 2019. Note: funds may be depleted prior to this date. You will be asked to accept or decline your award within a short time period, so that we can reallocate funds if you are unable to attend. Questions should be sent to
