Archdeacons' Articles of Inquiry 2020 - Diocese of Manchester

May we take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done in Christ’s service as Churchwardens in the last year and to thank you in advance for completing our Articles of Inquiry.

This year’s questions address the priorities set out in the mission action plan designed to implement our vision for the next ten years. You will find questions on “Growing” and “Serving” and also on the Mission Action Plans developed by your parish. Since we are encouraging Manchester churches to take part in The Big Church Survey featured in February’s edition of Crux, which focuses on discipleship and evangelism, this year’s Articles do not contain questions under “Nurturing”.

For ease of completion the questions under each heading are “tick box”, but with space for you to comment further where helpful. You may wish to involve your PCC or Standing Committee in completing the form rather than tackling it by yourselves. If you have any queries about the questions, please contact us.

The information you provide will help us to support local activity and assess progress under each of our mission goals. Your help in gathering the information is greatly appreciated.

Please would you make sure that our Articles of Inquiry are completed either online or returned to your Archdeacon’s office (at the address below) by [date].

We look forward to seeing all those elected to serve as Churchwardens, Sideswomen and Sidesmen together with PPC members at our Visitations in June. In the meantime, we continue to hold you in our prayers, and ask that you pray for us as we seek to serve Christ and his Church.

With our prayers and good wishes.

Archdeacon David Sharples (davidsharples@manchester.anglican.org)
Archdeacon Karen Lund (karenlund@manchester.anglican.org)
Archdeacon Jean Burgess (jeanburgess@manchester.anglican.org)
Please ensure that these Articles of Inquiry are completed and submitted by Friday 5th June 2020.
