Refugee and Asylum Seekers @ Stanford
Date: Thursday 11/15, 2:30-4pm
Location: Bechtel International Center Assembly Room, 84 Capistrano Way, Stanford, CA 94305

Join Stanford's Asian American Student Association as we learn about the history of refugees and asylum seekers who came to Angel Island in the early 20th century. We will also hear personal stories from two more recent refugees from Vietnam and Bosnia, followed by a discussion with Faye Hipsman from the Institute of Migration Policy about the broken U.S. asylum system and proposals for common-sense steps to get back on track. This is a community education program developed by the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (aiisf.org). Please email cyang7@stanford.edu with any questions.
