Roulette Intermedium, a non-profit organization for the experimental performing arts, seeks motivated, enthusiastic individuals pursuing careers related to performing arts administration,marketing, development, as well as live sound production and audio archive. Our internship program is ideal for students and recent graduates who are interested in working across departments and in gaining experience in multiple aspects of non-profit arts management.

This position is unpaid. Interns receive free entry to Roulette performances and special events over the course of the internship and an All-Access Membership upon completion.

    Programs

    Roulette offers internships in multiple departments: Audio Engineering, Marketing & Administration, and Development. ___________________________________________________________ Audio Engineering Internship An immersive introduction into all aspects of audio engineering and recording with hands-on experience with live sound performances. Interns will assist the Production Manager and crew with set-up and breakdown of equipment, organizing inventory, and editing audio files for archival purposes. Qualifications: We accept AV Interns with a wide range of experiences. A basic understanding of live sound production and Audio/Visual equipment is a plus, as is an interest in experimental music and performing arts. Required qualities are professionalism, work ethic, promptness, and the ability to work as a team. ___________________________________________________________ Marketing & Administration Internship This internship gives insight into the administration of a non-profit music venue, which includes event production, outreach and community partnerships, as well as website development and maintenance. Applicants should be enthusiastic about interacting with the public and engaging Roulette’s diverse audience. Responsibilities will include: -Posting event listings to social media & events websites -Expanding Roulette’s volunteer program -Designing and proofreading nightly program notes -Updating the website with events for the upcoming season -Developing community partnerships Qualifications: Candidates will be highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Mailchimp, Wordpress, and HTML. Customer service, data entry and administrative experience is a plus. ___________________________________________________________ Development Internship Roulette seeks a talented, focused Development Intern to work with an energetic, high-volume but small development staff. This position offers an opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways to all aspects of arts fundraising. Responsibilities will include: -Working with staff to plan cultivation and Membership events and major fundraising campaigns -Assisting in drafting inquiries, acknowledgement letters, proposals and other donor correspondence -Working with the Director of Membership to promote and fulfill Memberships -Researching potential and existing individual, foundation, corporate and government funders -Providing some administrative support including assisting with large mailings, organizing and maintaining donor database, filing, copying, writing, and editing Qualifications: Candidates should be self-motivated, independent, and organized with highly proficient skills in researching, writing, editing and communication. Must also have strong computer skills. Knowledge of Salesforce/Patron Manager or the desire to gain competence in donor software is desired. This position will require a minimum 8-hour/week commitment split between two days. ___________________________________________________________
