The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance has two state-of-the-art dance studios available for rental. The spaces are ideal for classes, auditions, and performances in ballet and modern dance, yoga and Pilates classes. Studios accommodate seminars and lectures, rehearsals, photo shoots, and filming..

MANDATORY TECHNICAL DIRECTOR FOR SHOWINGS AND PERFORMANCES
The Martha Graham Studio Theater's TD will pre-set the space in a standard black box configuration. The TD will troubleshoot any sound, lighting, or other technical equipment issues, and will assist in the restoration of the space back to its original configuration. The TD may be able to also serve as sound board operator, depending on the complexity of the performance, but will not substitute for a Stage Manager or Lighting Designer/Supervisor position.

A mandatory fee of $250 will cover the expense of a technical director for up to four (4) hours. There will be an additional charge for any rentals that exceed four hours. For more information, please contact rentals@marthagraham.org.

COVID SAFETY PLAN
The Martha Graham Center has implemented the following plan to minimize the risks to the health and well-being of each member of the community.

The Safety Plan has and continues to follow all federal, state, and local guidelines for safely returning to work.  The following measures comprise the Center’s Safety Plan, but is subject to change based on any adjustments in the guidance provided by relevant government agencies.

The Center has taken the following measures in the spaces it occupies to ensure that individuals are aware of the Center’s and/or the building’s protocols:

FACILITIES
- Beginning September 6th, 2021, all individuals will be required to show proof of vaccination at the front desk in order to enter the studios. Please provide your vaccination card along with a viable ID.
-          Everyone must wear masks/ face coverings at all times.
- No more than two people/households are allowed in the elevator, as per the building’s protocol.
- Appropriate signage has been posted to notify those entering the Center’s spaces that (i) social distancing is in place, (ii) masks must be properly worn at all times, and (iii) that all individuals must wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently throughout their time at the Center.
- Employees, Students and Renters are required to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet at all times.
- No more than 2 people are allowed in the 11th floor restrooms at a time. Restrooms will be disinfected nightly.
- Dressing rooms are closed.

STUDIO SAFETY MEASURES

- Hand sanitizers and wipes will be provided.
- Only the pianist is allowed to touch the piano and is required to wipe it down before and after use.
- Only the rehearsal directors and necessary tech support are allowed to touch the A/V equipment.
- HEPA air purifiers and fans have been installed in all dance studios.
- 6’x6’ squares are taped on the marley floor to mark individual spaces. Each square is 4’ apart, making the distance between each individual between 6’ and 10’ at any given time.
- Building access will be strictly limited to employees and approved visitors (e.g. facilities crew)

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

- All individuals entering the building are required to bring/wear their own mask. Additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available on the 11th floor studio or on the 1st floor.
- Masks must be properly worn, covering the mouth and nose, at all times.
- Entry access will be staggered to avoid backup at the door.

DAILY SCREENING – CONTACT TRACING

- All individuals must complete the Center’s Health Questionnaire prior to coming onsite https://forms.gle/kXmf4PJ3c1fdS4Mp6
- The Center keeps records of everyone that is present in its facility for the purposes of contact tracing
- All individuals receive a daily temperature check at the front desk upon entering.
-          All individuals must provide proof of vaccination along with ID

STUDIO RULES
1. No street shoes on the marley. Dance footwear or bare feet/socks only. No rosin is permitted.

2. Absolutely no food or drink (except water) inside the studios. No gum!

3. The Artist may not leave belongings behind. The studio is not responsible for lost items.

4. The Artist must throw away all garbage in the designated trash bins.

5. The Artist shall not allow any object that might damage the floor (including street shoes of performers, staff, and members of the audience) on the floor of the studios. No paint or body makeup that will transfer onto the floor during rehearsal or performance may be used.

6. The Artist is responsible for leaving the space in the same condition as received, including but not limited to, all Center theatrical property, equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc. If in the sole determination of the Center there is damage to the facilities or its content, the Artist shall be charged for the cost of repairing said damage.

7. The Center shall have the authority to charge the credit card on file for any damage incurred.

8. The Studio is situated in a residential building. Artist agrees that all rehearsals and Artist performance activity shall end before or promptly at 9:30pm. All Artists agree that any warm-up, set up, or strike time is included in their hours of rental. Studio personnel shall ensure that all activity ends promptly at 9:30.

8. The Artist shall use the Reserved Space only for activities outlined in their contract. The Artist shall not allow the Reserved Space to be used for any unlawful purpose.

9. All photography and videography must be scheduled and approved.
