LingHacks Workshops on Words Application
LingHacks ( will be hosting 2 introductory computational linguistics workshops at the Los Altos Library (13 S San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, CA) this fall. We welcome all students in 8th grade or above, regardless of background. You may attend one or both workshops. Details:
- Workshop 1: Sunday, October 21st from 11 AM to 1 PM. Topics covered include introductory Python, data preprocessing and manipulation using Python natural language processing packages, common machine learning algorithms, and a spellcheck application tutorial.
- Workshop 2: Sunday, November 4th from 11 AM to 1:30 PM (11:30 - 1:30 for those who also attend Workshop 1). Topics include introductory Python & data preprocessing, more machine learning algorithms, and application tutorials on synonym generation & uses of WordNet.
