CS First for your Hour of Code
CSTA is pleased to partner with Google to support CSTA members in running an Hour of Code. By bringing the CS First Hour of Code activity to your classroom, you will be eligible for a 50% discount on your CSTA+ membership. Once you complete this form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a unique single-use code to sign-up for CSTA+.

In CS First’s new activity for Hour of Code 2018, “An Unusual Discovery”, two characters meet in a virtual world and discover a surprising object. Students get to decide what happens next by creating a story with code. Using basic CS concepts such as events, sequencing and conditionals, students can use their imaginations and creativity to bring the interaction to life. As with other CS First projects, this stand-alone activity is part of the free, video-based, introductory computer science curriculum designed to engage diverse students in grades 4-8 (ages 9-14). Learn more about running the activity, and reviewing our digital lesson plans and other materials for teachers by copying and pasting links below into a new webpage.
