2019 Chili'n on the Ave Chili Entry

-All contestants will be given a 12’ by 12’ space in which to cook and decorate. All equipment and supplies are the responsibility of the cooks, including but not limited to tents, tables, heat source, etc.
-Power is not provided.
-Participants are responsible for setting up, decorating and cleaning their area after the event.
-Up to two different types of chili can be entered per team.
-All entrants are automatically entered into showmanship competition.
-Fantastic ribbons, trophies and/or cash prizes will be awarded for showmanship, judged chilis and People's Choice winners.

There is a fee of $25 for each chili entry registered by Friday, October 6. Any entries registered after this date (including day-of entries) are subject to a fee of $40 per entry. How are you going to pay?

A. Each chili submission must adhere to the rules below:
Chili must be cooked on site, from scratch on the day of the cook-off, and prepared in the open (no motorhomes, campers, lean-tos or yurts are permitted).
CHILI COOKED FROM SCRATCH - "Scratch" is defined as starting with raw meat. No marinating is allowed. Commercial chili powder is permissible, but complete commercial chili mixes ("just add meat" mixes that contain pre-measured spices) are NOT permitted. Ingredients may be brought on-site pre-chopped. Canned goods (tomato products, beans, etc.) are allowed, but canned commercial chilis are prohibited.
NO FILLERS IN CHILI - Noodles, rice, or other similar ingredients are not permitted.
SANITATION - Cooks are to prepare and cook chili in as sanitary a manner as possible.
INSPECTION OF COOKING CONDITIONS - Cooking conditions are subject to inspection by the head judge or his/her designee. (Failure to comply is subject to disqualification.)
COOKS MAY HAVE TO TASTE THEIR CHILI - At the discretion of the event organizers or their designees, chili cooks may be required to remove the lids from their chili cups and taste their chili before turning in for judging. (If a contestant refuses, his or her chili will be disqualified.)
B. A minimum of 3 gallons of chili must be prepared and available for sampling. Only one sample per batch may be submitted for judging. Scoop one cup per pot, and turn it in. No more than one cup per batch/type of chili may be submitted.
C. Submission cups must be filled to the line indicated.
D. All judging cups/tickets must be intact. Do not tamper with the judging system.
E. All cooks will be informed of the scheduled judging time prior to the start of the cook-off. All samples must be submitted at this time, on demand. No late submissions will be accepted.
F. No chili contestant or tent occupants may possess or discharge firearms or use any pyrotechnics or explosives at a chili cook-off. Contestants possessing or discharging firearms and/or using explosives or other pyrotechnics will be disqualified from the chili cook-off.
G. Showmanship displays are intended to reflect the character of the entered chili. Have fun with it! Displays should be safe, appropriate for a family event, and easily removable after the event, without causing any impact or damage to the event site.
H. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the disqualification of a chili, cook, or team at the sole discretion of the event organizer's designee. In the case of disqualification, the cook will be informed of the status and reason.
I. No refund of entry fees will be offered for disqualification, event cancellation or any other reason.

By entering the Chili Cook-Off and signing this Registration, I acknowledge and agree that: (1) I have received, read and understand the Rules and Regulations for the Cook-Off and agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations and; (2) I am at least eighteen (18) years of age and otherwise eligible to enter the Cook-Off. I understand that failure to observe the Rules and Regulations will result in disqualification from the Cook-Off. I shall indemnify, defend and forever hold the East Tosa Alliance and their affiliates, agents, employees, officers and directors (the “Alliance Parties”) harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including, but not limited to, all claims of damage or injury to person), that may be asserted against or incurred by any Alliance Party and which arise out of or in connection with my participation in the Cook-Off.
NONE OF THE EAST TOSA ALLIANCE PARTIES MAKES ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER TO PARTICIPANTS OR ANY OTHER PERSONS RELATING IN ANY WAY TO PARTICIPATION IN THE COOK-OFF AND/OR THE PRIZES. NONE OF THE EAST TOSA ALLIANCE PARTIES SHALL BE LIABLE TO PARTICIPANTS OR ANY OTHER PERSONS FOR, AND, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, EAST TOSA ALLIANCE, ALL OF THEIR AFFILIATES, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, OR PRINCIPALS ARE HEREBY RELEASED FROM ANY REMEDY, LIABILITY, DAMAGES, COSTS, OR LOSSES WHATSOEVER RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE COOK-OFF AND THE PRIZES WHETHER ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS OR APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING CONTRACT, TORT, STATUTORY, OR ANY OTHER LAW. THE COOK-OFF IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN WITHOUT REGARD TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW PROVISION. ANY CLAIMS, DISPUTES OR OTHER MATTERS IN QUESTION ARISING OUT OF, OR RELATING TO, THE COOK-OFF OR THE PRIZES, WHETHER SOUNDING IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE (COLLECTIVELY, THE “CLAIMS”) WILL BE DECIDED EXCLUSIVELY BY THE GENERAL DISTRICT COURT OR CIRCUIT COURT OF MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WISCONSIN, AND, TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRIAL BY JURY AS TO ANY CLAIM IS HEREBY WAIVED BY PARTICIPANTS.
For valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, I, the undersigned, hereby irrevocably consent to and authorize the East Tosa Alliance, and/or anyone authorized East Tosa Alliance, the use and/or reproduction of (i) any and all photographs containing my person, image or likeness; (ii) any and all audio recording containing my person, name or voice; and/or (iii) any and all video recording containing my person or that of my dependant’s, image, likeness, name or voice; for any lawful purpose whatsoever.
