Alumni have always been important to the program and rest assured, the tradition of excellence all of you were a part of still lives on. Many of your names are known by the current team's athletes, as Zimney, Delmore, Tandeski, and Baker tell stories often. I am hoping to reach out to all of our alumni and keep the tradition alive.

For those who don't know, Coach Zimney retired last spring after 37 years as Head Coach (he is still involved with the current team as a volunteer hurdle coach). We all know what a phenomenal job he did over the years. From the successful teams, the infamous Prom Speech, and his undying enthusiasm for track, Zimney built a great tradition and his legacy will live on. The Last Chance Meet will now be called the Bob Zimney Last Chance Meet. It is scheduled for Monday, May 16th at 1:00 PM. He will be recognized at some point during the meet and all alumni are welcome to join. As a gift to Zimney from his former team members, I will be collecting messages from alumni and compiling them into a book. If you would like to write a small message to Coach Zim, it would make a great keepsake for him and I know he would really appreciate the surprise.
