Call for Artists Open Exhibition: All Craft Forms for Holiday Pop-up Shop

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 30

Chaya Studio Jewelry presents the 5th annual Holiday Benefit Art Show at 22 Cottage Rd, South Portland, ME. This call for art is open to all artists and craftspeople.

Whether you throw mugs, make oil paintings, design jewelry, knit hats or print calendars, we encourage you to apply to participate. Chaya will be transforming her space into a pop-up artisan marketplace with handmade items from around the state. This 4-week event attracts buyers from the greater Portland area including Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, South Portland and beyond. It has become a successful event for everyone involved and for two years we raised enough to sponsor a family at Camp Sunshine. Please join us for year 5!

Chaya will curate and staff the event.

All artists will be paid 55% and 10% will go to Camp Sunshine.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Submission Deadline: Monday, October 30
Submission Review: October 31
Confirmation: November 1
Drop-off: November 13 - 15 (see details below)
Artist Reception and Party: Friday December 8, 5 - 9pm
Exhibition Dates: November 25 - December 24, 9:30am - 5:30pm, Wednesday - Sunday
Pick-up: December 28, 10am - 5pm
Payment: Checks will be issued 30 days after the closing of the show.

Please help us spread the word! We will be advertising in the local paper as well as listing the event in print and web media. In addition, we will have posters and postcards printed for distribution. If you would like to help, please specify how many of each you would like to pick up.

Inventory Drop-Off Checklist
- Priced work (clearly and easily legible) with tags or stickers
- Inventory list
- Display props such as card racks, shelving, platforms, etc.
- Business cards (with a holder if you have one to spare)
- Packing materials for when your items are sold (boxes, tissue paper, ribbon, etc.)
- Instructions on how to hang your work (if needed) please label 2-D work as top/bottom
