Mascot & Spirit Squad Appearance Request Form
Request the Phoenix mascot and/or our cheer and dance team(s) for your next event! 

Request Timeline
  • Please complete the below form at least 3 weeks in advance of your event. There are no exceptions to this rule. 
  • Requests will be responded to in five (5) to seven (7) business days. Submitting a request does not guarantee an appearance.
Availability
  • All scheduling is completed around class schedules and university appearances; hence availability is not guaranteed.
  • Please understand that the Phoenix and spirit squads are at most Elon sporting events and that athletic department and university-affiliated appearances take top priority for scheduling.
  • The Phoenix and spirit squads are available for appearances throughout the year. However, the summer months, as well as Fall, Winter and Spring Break may be harder to fulfill an appearance request due to school being out of session.
Appearance Requirements
  • Accurate directions, location, on-site contact and on-site phone number must be provided.
  • A parking place close to the event must be provided.
  • A private, secure location (not a public restroom) to dress and store personal items must be provided.
  • Drinking water must available at all times (water breaks as needed).
  • The mascot cannot be required to be inside the suit for longer than a maximum of one hour at a time before taking a break. If the appearance is outdoors please allow extra breaks during that allotted time. 
Cancellation Policy
  • Events can be canceled by Elon University at any time due to mascot availability, schedule changes, adverse weather (if event is outdoors) or the nature of the event request.
  • Mascot and spirit squads may cancel an event if they feel uncomfortable with the venue, the behavior of the guests, and/or if there is not a suitable place to change clothes and safely store their personal items, or any other situation that makes them feel unsafe or uneasy.
  • If you wish to reschedule or cancel your event, please email edirks@elon.edu as soon as possible.
Publicity/Marketing Restrictions
All publicity for the event, whether in advance or afterwards, which mentions an appearance by the mascot or spirit squads, or uses university marks (logos), must be approved by the Elon University Department of Athletics before use.
