VYY Membership fee refund application for Autumn semester 2025
This form allows you to apply, on justified grounds, for refund of the Student Union of the University of Vaasa (=VYY) membership fee.

Justified reasons for applying include paying an incorrect amount, paying twice, declaration of absence or ending of studies.

PLEASE NOTICE: VYY does not accept any paper applications anymore.

All the refund applications must be submitted:
- on 30th of September (for autumn semester refunds)
- on 31st of January (for spring semester refunds).

Applications submitted after the deadline or with insufficient information will not be processed. All the refunds are made after the deadline, when they've been processed and the information has been added to the system. In case you have not received the refund in 30 days, please contact Secretary General.

In order to receive the refund,
1) send a receipt of the membership fee payment/ bank account statement
2) one must remove the academic year sticker from the student card. Student must present the card to the Student Union, there's no exception to this. In case you'd like to have your card back, please attach an envelope with the card.  NOTE: A student card with the payment functionality cannot be mailed in case you want it back. It must be brought to the VYY office in person!
3) in case you're applying for the fee because of ending your studies or declaration of absence, please make sure the information can be found from Peppi.


If a basic degree student graduates before the registration period ends in autumn (=before the 15th of September), they may apply for refund of their membership fee. If a basic degree student graduates before the registration period ends in spring (= before the 31st of January) they may apply for refund of the spring semester part of their membership fee.

Please fill out your name and bank account details carefully. In case you do not have a Finnish bank account, please fill out your full name (as in account details), name of the bank, branch name and address. We recommend using the Finnish bank account in case that is possible.

Exemption from membership fee can be granted according to the Student Union rules by the VYY Secretary General and, in unclear cases, by the VYY board. You can appeal a decision made by the Secretary General by presenting a written appeal to the executive board within 14 days of being informed of the decision.
